Body found near Southington dog park under investigation

The medical examiner's office responded to the scene and results of an autopsy are currently pending.

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. — A man's body was found near a dog park in Southington early this week, police confirmed Wednesday.

Police officers responded to 125 Mill Street around 6:50 a.m. on Monday after a report of a person lying on the ground near the dog park.

The victim was identified as 65-year-old Alan Legat. Police said Legat was unhoused at the time of his death.

Legat's next of kin have been notified.

The medical examiner's office responded to the scene and results of an autopsy are currently pending.

Police said the man's death is under investigation; however, there are no indications of foul play. Additional information was immediately available.
