Newington officials investigate fire at auto shop

When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke at a rear garage. A vehicle on fire was found in one of the bays of the shop.

NEWINGTON, Conn. — Newington fire crews are investigating what caused a fire at an auto shop on Monday evening, according to officials. 

Fire crews were called to CT Auto Repair on Pane Road, behind the Stew Leonard's plaza, around 9 p.m. When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke at a rear garage. A vehicle was found on fire in one of the bays of the shop, officials said. 

No injuries were reported.
