Part of Monroe Street in Norwalk closed following underground explosion

NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk crews are on the scene of an underground explosion. 

Monroe Street between South Main Street and Chestnut Street will be closed until 7 a.m. while crews assess the damage.

Local power outages have been reported. 

Officials as travelers to avoid the area at this time.
