Bridgette Bjorlo anchors the FOX61 News at 6 p.m.

An Emmy Award-Winning journalist, Bridgette grew up in the Tri-State area and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University with a dual Bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science. She went on to earn a Master of Science from Columbia University’s Pulitzer School of Journalism in New York City, while simultaneously working as a booking producer at a national news network.

From Manhattan to the “Peanut Capital of the World” she went to get her on-air start in television news. Bridgette anchored the headlines in Alabama before moving to the rolling hills of Tennessee, where she covered murder trials, tornadoes, and the 2018 race for Tennessee governor. She also received an Emmy nomination for her breaking news reporting on the death of legendary University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt.

Most recently, Bridgette spent half a decade as an anchor and reporter in Sacramento, where she covered California politics, the homeless crisis, and some of the state’s largest wildfires on record. Bridgette earned an Emmy Award for a feature story she wrote and produced on a decorated World War II veteran who captured hearts around the world following her viral report.

Bridgette is most passionate about sharing personal stories of triumph and resilience in the face of adversity and informing people about political issues that affect their daily lives.
