Pennsylvania man identified as victim in Hartford motorcycle crash

The crash involved two motorcycles and one fled the scene.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Police have identified the victim of a  fatal motorcycle crash early Saturday morning.

Randall Beriguette, 19, of Hazelton, Pennsylvania, died in the crash which occurred around 4:15 a.m. at the intersection of Airport Road and Ledyard Street.

Officials said, "Preliminary investigation indicates that two motorcycles were traveling west on Airport Road. The front motorcycle slowed for a vehicle stopped on Ledyard Street at the intersection with Airport Road and the second motorcycle ran into it from behind, causing both to crash. The operator of the rear motorcycle suffered severe injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The front motorcycle operator fled from the scene following the crash. The evading operator has not been located as of this writing.

The death was the ninth fatal crash of 2020. A fatal crash on Sunday pushed the total to 10.  At the same point last year, there had been five fatal crashes.
