2 adults dead, 3 children hospitalized after Thanksgiving crash in Bristol

The adults were from New York and died in the crash, police said. Their children were taken to nearby hospitals for their injuries.

BRISTOL, Conn. — Two adults are dead, and three children have been hospitalized after a Thanksgiving Day crash on Stevens Street near the Bristol/Farmington line, according to the Bristol fire chief. 

It happened just after 7 p.m. on Thursday. The two adults were pronounced dead at the scene. LifeStar took one child to the hospital, and the other two were taken by ground to local hospitals. Their injuries are not known at this time.

According to police, the vehicle was traveling on Morea Road in Farmington before crossing into Bristol on Stevens Street. The car left the roadway and hit a road sign and vegetation before stopping in the woods, police said.

The two adults were 41-year-old Toby Cohen and 37-year-old Brooke Cohen from Scarsdale, New York, according to police. The children's ages ranged from 2 to 6 years old and were the children of the adults.

Bristol police are investigating the crash and anyone with information or home surveillance video of the vehicle traveling on Morea Road in Farmington before the crash is asked to contact Bristol police.
