GLASTONBURY, Conn. — Officers are investigating after a car went into the front entrance of the Munson's Chocolates store in Glastonbury Monday afternoon, the town's police department said.
Police, along with the fire department and a medical crew, arrived at 2:45 p.m. to the store in the Somerset Square shopping center on Glastonbury Boulevard for a report of a car that went into the building.
Officers found a white Buick sedan inside the store that was driven by a 76-year-old man. Police determined through a preliminary investigation that the car drove over the sidewalk and went into the front entrance of the store, which was open for business at the time.
Police said that no injuries were reported and that the driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The car was removed from the store after a Glastonbury building official evaluated the building for any structural damage, according to police. Officers said that the property management also worked to secure the storefront.
There is currently no information on the cause of the crash or when the store will be reopened at this time.
