4 arrested in illegal dumping of 'bulky items' in Hartford neighborhood: Police

HARTFORD, Conn. — Four people were arrested following a months-long illegal dumping investigation involving the Parkville neighborhood in Hartford, the city's police department said Wednesday.

According to police, they received reports over multiple months of various objects being illegally dumped in the areas of Bartholomew Avenue, Wellington Street and Oliver Street.

The objects found discarded, according to police, included "bulky items such as mattresses, box springs, construction debris, various types of trash and piles of tires."

Investigators obtained arrest warrants for four suspects from Hartford who turned themselves into police, including Loinell Keith, 45, Craig Batchelor, 64, Noel Cruz, 51 and Tiago Fernandes Da Silva, 25. All are facing charges related to illegal dumping.

Members of the Southwest Community Service Unit and Capital City Crime Center were involved in the investigation, according to police.
