2 killed, including 16-year-old, in Hartford shooting: Police

Police were called to an apartment on Hendricxsen Avenue where the two were found shot multiple times in a stairwell.

HARTFORD, Conn. — A 19-year-old and 16-year-old from Hartford are dead following a shooting, police said. 

Hartford police were called to an apartment complex on Hendricxsen Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Officials said police received several 911 calls reporting shots fired.

When police got to the scene, they found 19-year-old Lavante Brown and 16-year-old Aydin Davis unresponsive in one of the building's stairwells, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Brown and Davis were rushed to Hartford Hospital, where they were pronounced dead from their injuries. 

At this time, it's unknown what led up to the shooting. Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and are investigating.
