SUFFIELD, Conn. — One individual was seriously injured on Thursday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in Suffield, police said.
The Suffield Police Department said officers responded to the vicinity of 45 Bridge St. around 4:21 p.m. after receiving a report of a car versus pedestrian crash. All involved parties were present upon the arrival of emergency personnel, police said.
The injured pedestrian was immediately treated, removed from the scene, and transported to a local hospital by the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association, police said.
Help was sought from the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad, which responded to the scene. NCMARS is called to assist in the investigation of serious motor vehicle crashes, as members bring their unique training and experience to the site of major incidents.
Police said the area of Bridge Street between Main Street and Thrall Street remains closed as the investigation continues, adding that the names of the parties involved are not being released at this time pending notification to the family.
