Shooting at West Hartford gas station leads to 2 arrests

No one was stuck by gunfire in the incident.

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Two people were arrested following an incident at a West Hartford gas station where a shot was fired during an argument with the store clerk, said police. 

At 5:36 a.m. police were called to the Shell gas station at 338 Park Road for a shots fired call. Arriving officers said a man and woman who were customers in the store got into a verbal argument with the the store employee over an attempted purchase of items. 

Police said during the argument, the clerk held a baseball bat and the man pointed a handgun in the direction of the employee. The firearm was fired once inside the store and no one was stuck by the bullet.  

Arriving officers located the man and woman. After a struggle, officers were able to take the male into custody as he resisted, utilizing a taser and physical restraints. While arresting the man, the handgun was located on his person.

Jamie Rocha-Olivares, 34, was charged with Breach of Peace in the 2nd degree,  Interference with officer, (Five Counts), Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree, Threatening in the First degree, Criminal Trespass in the First degree, Carrying a pistol without a permit, Unlawful discharge of firearm, Criminal attempt Assault in the First degree. He was held on $750,000  bond.

Nicole Beagle, 40, was charged with Breach of Peace in the 2nd degree, Interference with officer, Violation of Conditions of release in the 2nd degree. She was held on $25,000 bond> 

Both are scheduled to appear in court in Hartford on Thursday.
