Victim in fatal Waterbury crash identified

Police were called to Frost Road around 5 a.m., and responding officers found a vehicle that went off the road and hit a telephone pole.

WATERBURY, Conn. — Waterbury police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a telephone pole, killing the passenger early Saturday morning.

Police were called to Frost Road around 5 a.m. where responding officers found a vehicle that went off the road and hit a telephone pole.

The front passenger, identified as a 30-year-old Aicen Aparicio Caballero, was taken to an area hospital, where she later died of her injuries, police said. 

The 19-year-old driver, also of Waterbury, had minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation. No other details were immediately made available.
