'Swatting call' targeting Brass Mill Center under investigation: Waterbury police

Responding officers determined there was no threat or danger to the public at the mall, police said.

WATERBURY, Conn. — The Brass Mill Center was temporarily in lockdown Wednesday as police investigated what turned out to be a "swatting call."

Waterbury police were called to the mall around 1 p.m. today for a report of a possible armed individual.

Responding officers determined there was no threat or danger to the public, police said.

The mall was placed on lockdown during the investigation and has since reopened for normal operations, police said.

Police are now investigating the incident as a "swatting call."

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Waterbury police at 203-574-6941.
