Newington police arrest two men for January burglary

NEWINGTON, Conn. — Two arrests have been made stemming from a burglary that occurred at New England Audio and Tinting on the Berlin Turnpike in the early hours of Jan. 14, 2024, the Newington Police Department said on Thursday.

The police department said it arrested Pasquale Sanseverino, 49, Michal Rivera, 42, after an extensive investigation, which led to the identification of both individuals as suspects in an incident where a vehicle was intentionally driven into New England Audio and Tinting, breaking the front glass.

Rivera and Sanseverino allegedly entered the building through the broken window and stole stereo equipment from the store, police said.

Rivera was arrested on Monday. He was charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree, two counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, larceny in the second degree, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, criminal mischief in the first degree and conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief, police said.

Rivera was held on $100,000 bond and was arraigned on Tuesday, according to police.

After being arrested on Thursday, Sanseverino was charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree, two counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, larceny in the second degree, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, first-degree criminal mischief, and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief in the third degree, police said.

Police said Sanseverino was held on a $100,000 bond and arraigned on Thursday.
