Bethel Police responded after somebody called 911 and hung up sometime just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday, said First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker. It's not clear who made the call.
Two officers went to 11 Governor's Lane and found evidence of a domestic disturbance. A wounded woman was found in the kitchen. Police also found two other victims in separate bedrooms. The three victims were all shot and a man and woman were taken to Danbury Hospital. One man was dead at the scene.
It is not known who the shooter is at this time or the conditions of the two hospitalized victims.
Police are currently on the scene investigating. Bethel Police Department are investigating, along with the State Police Major Crime Team. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Police have not found th gun yet.
Governors Lane is closed at Whippoorwill Road, said police.
Police do not believe anyone in the neighborhood is in immediate danger from anyone else, but would not confirm if the shooter was one of the three victims.
Bethel Police Chief Jeffrey Finch told the News-Timesthat a woman who was shot is expected to survive.
The names of the three people haven't been released.
