MANCHESTER — Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run accident that left a woman in critical condition.
Police were called to 685 Center St. at 10 p.m. on Monday and found Maura Holmes, 41 of Manchester, who was injured and on the ground. She had been hit by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries. She was taken to St. Francis where she was in critical condition. Police did not identify the woman.
Around midnight, Isa Uzun, 41, of Bristol, turned himself into police. Police said he told them he had been driving in the area and had struck the woman and continued home after the accident.
Officers said his driver’s license was under suspension at the time of the incident. He has been charged with evading responsibility in a serious injury motor vehicle collision and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police said driver impairment did not appear to be a factor in the accident. He was held on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
