STRATFORD-   Saturday  marked the final stop  for Todd's "Connecticut Pour Tour."

One man's mission to raise money for pediatric cancer research-- by drinking a beer in every single Connecticut town.

"I'm completely overwhelmed how generous people in Connecticut are," said Todd Ruggerie.

Todd Ruggerie spent the past seven months by having a beer in every one of Connecticut's 169 towns and cities.

Saturday afternoon, Ruggerie made his last stop in Connecticut as he visited the  Two Roads Brewing Company Co. in Stratford.

Ruggerie presented a $50,000 check to the Smilow Cancer at  Yale-New Haven Hospital during his visit at the brewery.

Ruggerie, a Grafton, Massachusetts resident  who works full-time in Boston completed a similar pour tour in Massachusetts' 351 town's  in 2013, which raised around $40,000.

"With half the towns, Connecticut happened to raise more money," he said.

Ruggerie says the giving never seem to stop.

When he stopped at a bar in Ridgefield,  Ruggerie says a man who came in gave him $12,000 to donate to the cause.  He says there were many other examples of generosity.

"In Windham, Connecticut,  some girl came to the bar with her dad, she was 7 years old and she had a lemonade stand. and she gave me the money from the lemonade stand to give to the kids," said Ruggerie.

The tour was completed in a seven month span, mostly visiting different towns on the weekends.

"I do this on my weekends and on my spare time. We're in Stratford right now, it's a 2.5 hour drive. I've depended on people on driving me places and putting me up in hotels," he said.

Much of the large crowd that gathered at the Two Roads brewery for Todd's final stop had traveled to other bars he visited in Connecticut during the tour.

Jeff and Mary Mattheis of New Hartford traveled to Stratford and to nearly a dozen other places Ruggerie stopped during the "Pour Tour."

The couple was awarded "The Groupie Award" during an informal award ceremony .

"I'm  going to miss following him on Twitter, and finding where he is each weekend and seeing if we can go hang out with him," said Mary Mattheis.

The owners of the Two Roads Brewing also decided to help Ruggerie during his pour tour.  An art studio that works for the brewery donated time to  create posters and help prepare advertising materials for the cause.

The Brewery also re-painted Ruggerie's car,  the yellow car is now covered with "CT Pour Tour" graphics which include a caricature of his face.

"Todd is such a great guy. You can tell he's got a big personality to make it happen and you also can tell right away that he's a man of integrity and trust," said Brad Hittle, CEO and partner of Two Roads Brewing Co.

Todd says his favorite stop on the tour was Scotland, Connecticut.  He says the town was so small there was no bar to go to, but town members gathered on the town's green to celebrate his visit while raising $1,200 toward the cause.

"The smaller towns seem to find a way to give," said Ruggerie.

Ruggerie is planing to embark on a nationwide pour tour. He plans to have a beer at a "popular  bar"  in each of the remaining 48 states he hasn't been to raise money.

"When I went to North Branford they raised $7,500 for me, in North Branford.  Imagine how much could I raise in Dallas or  New York City?" said Ruggerie.
