GLASTONBURY — Police arrested a driver who they said was drunk and had drugs, guns and several hundred rounds of ammunition on him after a clash with his wife.
Timothy M. Gilchrist, 47, of Hillstown Road in Glastonbury was arrested on eight counts Thursday including driving while under the influence, possession of narcotics and weapons in a motor vehicle. He was released from custody after posting bail.
During his appearance in Superior Court in Manchester Friday, he was scheduled to return to court Sept. 17.
According to police, Gilchrist threatened his wife that night and left their house. After police arrived and began investigating, officers spotted him driving by the home, they said.
They pulled him over on a motor vehicle charge — he wasn’t driving in the proper lane — and officers learned that he was drunk, police said.
He also had Oxycodone, marijuana, several firearms and several hundred rounds of ammunition, police said.
He was arrested about 10 p.m.
