HARTFORD — Connecticut officials have scheduled a public hearing on a new plan to curb youth and urban violence.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman says officials want to hear feedback on a recently released draft report by a special commission formed by Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

The draft report includes recommendations on ensuring that young people have safe neighborhoods, access to opportunities and support they need to succeed.

Recommendations include increasing trauma services from birth to age 26, increasing screening for risk factors for violence, including adversity and chronic stress, and expanding non-criminal discipline in schools.

The public hearing is set for Monday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Hartford Public High School library. Residents also can submit comments by email to ltgovernor.wyman@ct.gov.
