WEST HARTFORD — Police are investigating  a man who was arrested driving a stolen car to see if he is connected to a series of car thefts and break-ins in three towns last week.

Cody Farley, 18, was arrested when he was seen on New Park Ave in a stolen Toyota Avalon at approximately 3:30 p.m. Monday.  The vehicle was listed as stolen from Newington, and  police said it was tied to a rash of car burglaries in their town.

Farley was charged with larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny, criminal trover (removing the ignition from a car), interfering with an officer, possession of burglary tools.

Police are investigating to see if Farley is connected to the string of car thefts and break-ins that plagued West Hartford, Newington and Bloomfield last week.

Police arrested Jose Monge, 19, of Hartford  on Thursday, after they found a car at a gas station that had been reported stolen. Monge was charged with larceny, and conspiracy to commit larceny.

Police believe that four or five other people may be involved and they expect to make more arrests. They said it is an unorganized gang of kids.
