Man tried to take ‘up-skirt’ photos in Vernon: Police

VERNON — Police arrested a man who they said tried to take photos up a woman’s skirt in a store in July.

Vernon Police charged Michael Tedford, 32, of Hartford, with voyeurism, breach of peace, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities said on July 7, a woman said Tedford approached her several times in the Salvation Army Store on Hartford Turnpike. She noticed he was holding a cell phone with the camera activated. She called police who stopped Tedford in the parking lot. After obtaining a search warrant, and turning the phone over to the CT Digital Investigations Taskforce, they found the cell phone had “images consistent with the crime.”

They also found Tedford did not have a valid driver’s license and a marijuana smoking bowl was found in the car.

He was released on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on September 13.
