NEWINGTON – The driver and passenger of a van involved in an alleged luring incident last Friday, posed no threat to residents according to police.
Police said they talked to the men in the van Thursday morning after warnings were sent out from the school district.
The school sent out warnings after a child said she was approached by two men in a van on Eighth Street on September 4. The student ran away and reported the incident.
The driver and passenger talked to police about what transpired Thursday morning. They told police they were conducting business in the area of the incident doing a survey.
School officials said even though no one was in danger, they wanted to remind residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
