WATERTOWN — Police have arrested a man they say was responsible for a fatal wrong was crash in August.

John Fretts, of Morris, turned himself in to police on Tuesday and was charged with manslaughter, driving the wrong way on a highway, and driving under the influence.

A state police investigation of the two car fatal accident on August 22 found that Fretts was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Route 8 in Watertown when his car struck another vehicle driven by Daniel Dziadik of Torrington, who died from the impact.  Police said they received several 9-1-1 calls reporting a wrong way driver traveling north in the southbound lane.
