NEW LONDON – New London Police said a man crashed into two houses, a fence and a telephone pole Tuesday night.
Police said Herbert Brown, 48, of 7 Griswold Court in New London left his home and crashed into a cement pole, then through a fence into the porch of a house, just after 10 p.m. He then crashed into another house on Chappell Street.
Police said Brown had been involved in some type of argument before he drove his car.
Police said Brown was driving while under the influence or alcohol and/or drugs and he was charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license, evading responsibility, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to drive right, and disorderly conduct, for the argument. He was held on $6,500 bail.
Police said Brown suffered a cut to his lip in the crash but no other injuries were reported. The structures he hit sustained minimal damage, according to police.
