HARTFORD--Many have been waiting a long time, and finally the waiting's over!
More than 65 years after the classic "Peanuts" comic strip debuted, the new "Peanuts Movie" was released on Friday. To celebrate the grand opening of the expected hit, a special screening was held in Hartford, and a VIP guest was in attendance.
The film's co-screenwriter, Cornelius Uliano, 30, hails from Newington. He wrote the movie along with "Peanuts" creator Charlse Shulz' grandson and son.
The proceeds from Friday's event will support Extravaganza, Newington's annual summer bash.
