At college campuses across the country it is that time, the dreaded week of final exams. In North Haven they’re using a four-legged approach to try to lower students’ stress.

They’ve brought the canine to the classroom at  Quinnipiac University this week only, he’s there to help lower stress as the students take their big tests. And the project is earning high marks.

A 3-year-old Golden Retriever is part of a the study, as part of this pet project the students get their vitals taken beforehand, then they go spend about five minutes with Aubrey and get checked again.

The results? Spending time with the dog brings their blood pressure down.

“I think it just makes me happy and all of my vitals did go down so there’s measurable results to that but overall it just makes me smile.” Said Lauren Hammang, a grad student.
