WATERBURY  — Police say a 55-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run in Connecticut over the weekend, but the suspect was quickly caught.

The Republican American reports that the victim was walking in Waterbury with his brother Saturday night when he was struck by a car.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. His name wasn’t released.

Police the driver, 37-year-old Martin Hamer hit the pedestrian, continued driving, then sideswiped another vehicle before stopping and leaving the car because it was too damaged.
