Suffield's library is the beating heart of the community | FOX61 Student News

Suffield residents have reflected on the importance of the historical Kent Memorial Library in shaping their everyday lives.

SUFFIELD, Conn. — Story by Christina Vega, Suffield High School

In September of 2023, former Kent Memorial Library director Julie Styles left her position, sparking controversy throughout the small town of Suffield.

Over the course of the following months, Suffield residents of all ages reflected on the importance of the historical Kent Memorial Library in shaping their everyday lives.

From serving as a space for students to spend time after school, for families to borrow books, or simply as a spot in town with internet access, the Kent Memorial Library continues to shine as the beating heart of Suffield.

As the search for the new library director continues, it is clear that they will have large shoes to fill.
