Hartford police destroy dozens of ATVs after recent seizures

This is part of Hartford police's efforts to combat illegal all-terrain vehicles from operating on city streets.

HARTFORD, Conn. — Dozens of ATVs seized by Hartford police were destroyed on Wednesday. 

Hartford police said that 30 all-terrain vehicles that were seized from recent operations within the city were destroyed. 

All of the destroyed ATVs were turned over from the court after adjudicating the cases from which they were seized. 

This is part of the Hartford Police Department’s efforts to combat illegal all-terrain vehicles from operating on city streets.

This is an issue not isolated to Hartford as several Connecticut towns and cities have been dealing with illegal ATV racing as well as street takeovers involving these vehicles.
