State investigation underway after Hartford officer fires gun: Police

No one was hit by the gunfire, police said.

HARTFORD, Conn. — State officials are investigating after a Hartford police officer fired their gun during a call overnight Saturday.

An officer fired their gun around 12:13 a.m. on the 400 block of Wethersfield Avenue, police said.

No one was hit by the gunfire, police said.

Details regarding what led up to the shooting were not immediately provided.

The Hartford State's Attorney was notified and the Office of the Inspector General and Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
