WALLINGFORD, Conn — A Waterbury man has been arrested and charged with breaking into a Wallingford home and assaulting a woman, according to Wallingford police.
On Friday, Nov. 24, at around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a Franklin Street address regarding a 'domestic-related incident.' Officers determined that at around 2 a.m., 29-year-old Byron Lalvay had broken into the home through a window and assaulted a woman inside the home.
Lalvay allegedly dragged the woman by her hair from inside the home, to the front porch, and down the front stairway before fleeing on foot, according to police.
Police said Lalvay also made comments that he was going to kill and kidnap the victim in the process.
The victim sustained minor injuries because of the incident.
After the investigation, officers developed probable cause to arrest Lalvay. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Lalvay and he was arrested the following day on Nov. 25.
Police ask anyone with information to contact the Wallingford Police Department at (203)294-2800.
