HAMDEN, Conn. — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect following a shooting in Hamden on Tuesday that left a 34-year-old man wounded.
At approximately 11:43 a.m. on Tuesday, Hamden police officers responded to the New Haven Police substation on Winchester Avenue in New Haven after receiving a report of a shooting victim who had been wounded in Hamden, police said.
Hamden police officers then responded to the area of Goodrich Street and Goodyear Street in Hamden, where they identified the crime scene, according to police.
Police said officers determined that an unknown man approached the victim, and they had a verbal argument. According to police, the unknown individual then produced a firearm and shot at the male victim, wounding him.
The unknown individual then fled the scene, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital and their condition is currently unknown.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and requested that anyone with information call Sgt. Crawford at 203-230-4000. Police said that callers can remain anonymous.
