HAMDEN – Police have made an arrest of a woman in connection with a home invasion where a man was assaulted and robbed after he invited a woman home that he met on an internet dating site.
Nazhia Carter, 19 of New Haven, was arrested on charges of home Invasion, larceny and prostitution.
Police said the victim invited a woman whom he met on an internet dating site to his apartment on Mix Avenue.
Police said Carter, or a female friend who was in the home as well, unlocked the front door. While the victim was in the bedroom with the women, two males entered the home. The men assaulted the victim, hitting him with a tire iron, police said. Several items were stolen from the home and one of the men jumped from a second story balcony to the ground outside.
The victim had injuries to his back, finger and nose, was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue, police said.
Carter was held on $200,000.00 bond, was arraigned on November 13. Police said the investigation was continuing.
