Pre-orders for two of the most coveted gadgets of the year have begun, but at a slow pace. Pre-orders for Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were scheduled to start at 3:01 a.m. Friday, but many people hit a road block.
The store section of apple.com crashed after being flooded by anxious Apple fans.
IT’S 2 MINUTES PAST TIME AND THE APPLE STORE IS STILL DOWN! UNACCEPTABLE!

I think we can all confirm this Apple Pre-Order has been a disaster.

The websites for wireless companies like AT&T and Verizon were also affected, according to a select few users:
Apple Store is down. Verizon isn’t working. My coffee machine is not cooperating. Look what you’re doing to me Apple.

But for most customers it appears the carriers were the best bet during the Apple outage.
I set an alarm for 2:50am, snoozed until 3:10, opened the Verizon store and bought on first try. Never trust the Apple Store. 9/19/14 #apple

At around 6:00 a.m. was accessible by the FOX CT newsroom.
Set alarm for 2am. Fight with an app that is bogged down by millions of people for 2.5 hours. Worth it. #iphone6plus ordered.
