MILFORD – A New York man was arrested after police said they found 9 pounds of cocaine in his car Saturday.
Police pulled over Rueben Abreu, 46, of New York City, for speeding on I-95 north at exit 35 in Milford at around 8:45 a.m.
Police suspected Abreu of drug trafficking and asked to search his vehicle. K-9 Jagger and an officer from the Fairfield Police Department responded to assist state police.
Jagger found a case containing four vacuum sealed bricks of suspected cocaine weighing 8.7 pounds. The street value of the suspected cocaine is valued at more than $250,000, according to police.
Abreu was arrested and held on a $300,000 bail. He will appear in Milford court on Monday.
