WATERBURY – Four Waterbury men were arrested after an assault near an elementary school on Halloween night.

Police said they went to an area near Salem Elementary School in nearby Naugatuck at around 9:30 p.m. to investigate an assault.

Police said they found an injured man and juvenile male.

Nobody else was in the area when they arrived, according to police.

Police said the man had been cut on the shoulder and the juvenile had a cut on the chin. Police said they were both taken to the hospital for treatment of the cuts.

Police said they identified four suspects and found them at a house in Waterbury, where they were arrested.

Christopher Gaskins, 25, was charged with first-degree assault, breach of peace, first-degree conspiracy to commit assault, and risk of injury to a child.

Sakwon Mitchell, 20, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree conspiracy to commit assault, breach of peace, and risk of injury to a child.

Haakeen Mitchell, 19, was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit assault, breach of peace, and risk of injury to a child.

David Williams, 21, was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit assault, risk of injury to a child and breach of peace.

All were held on $100,000 bail.
