Wolcott police are investigating a car crash that killed one person and injured two others.
Police said around 6:30 a.m., they were called to County Road (Route 322) for a crash.
When they arrived on scene, officers found a Honda with two adults inside and a pickup truck with a driver. Police said the two people in the Honda had to be extricated by the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Department.
The driver, later identified as 42-year-old Thomas Rivera, of Waterbury was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other passenger, 21-year-old Justice Rivera was was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
The pickup truck driver, Richard Mancinone Jr. (39) of Wolcott had also suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Police said the Honda appeared to have been driving south on County Road, crossed the center lane, and crashed head-on into the truck.
The investigation is ongoing.
