HARTFORD--A highly anticipated high school girls basketball game played out in front of 1,800 fans on Monday night.
Capitol Preparatory Magnet School from Hartford played Mercy High School from Middletown; the teams are ranked number one and two in the state. The game was played at the University of Hartford.
Capitol Prep dominated Mercy, 88-48, largely in thanks to two players. Desiree Elmore, a junior forward, and Kiah Gillespie, a senior center, together put up 60 points on the scoreboard.
