CT entrepreneur develops new dating app 'Picme'

He said the app has the ability to send personal Snapchat-style picture messages and that it's close to in-person dating but 'on your own schedule'.

HARTFORD, Conn — The pandemic continues but that doesn't mean love takes a break.

One UConn graduate turned entrepreneur wants to help the community date safely and easily.

Niko Diakogiannis developed an app called 'Picme' with the intent of making online dating as close to the 'in-person' experience as possible.

"You take a picture of something you're doing in your everyday life and you send it to someone and tell them more about your personality that way," said Diakogiannis.

He said the app has the ability to send personal Snapchat-style picture messages and that it's close to in-person dating but 'on your own schedule'.

With how the app works, the other person has 24 hours to respond and Diakogiannis says it's to help encourage people to get the ball rolling talking.
