1983 Mianus River I-95 Bridge collapse
A 100-foot-long section of the Interstate 95 bridge spanning the Mianus River collapsed in Greenwich, Conn., early on Tuesday, June 29, 1983. Three people were killed and three were seriously injured when their vehicles plugged 70 feet to the river. The cause of the collapse of the bridge is under investigation by authorities.
