New Britain man dead in Wickham Park shooting, East Hartford police say

The shooting happened late Sunday, according to police.

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — One man is dead following a suspected shooting Sunday night in Wickham Park. 

East Hartford officials said officers found a man around 10:30 p.m. Sunday in Wickham Park behind Tolland Street. His name has not been released at this time, but police said Monday that he was identified as a 31-year-old from New Britain.

According to police, the man was found fatally shot.

The shooting is still under investigation, and East Hartford police have not released additional details at this time. They said there was no threat to the community and that it appears to be an isolated incident.
