Daytrippers: Rompin’ N’ Rollin’ in Wethersfield

It's not just about fun, but educational and functional as well.

WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — You are never too young to start having fun, and at Romp N’ Roll in Wethersfield there’s tons of fun to be had!

At Romp N’ Roll, it is not just about fun, but educational and functional as well.

“It's a recreational facility,” said Meredith Myers, owner of Romp N’ Roll. “We fun and educational for kids from 3 months old all the way up to 6 years old."

But wait, there is more!

“We have camps, drop offs, birthday parties, and plenty for them to do, gym, art in the painting room, and music classes"

Myers has been running this Romp N’ Roll for six years, and it is the only location in Connecticut. Myers says, now more than ever, kids need an outlet.

"It is working on all of their motor skills,” said Myers. “Gross and fine motor skills in the art room, and also social skills, and language skills while they are in here."

Jill Cusano has been with Romp N’ Roll since it opened, and after this past year, there’s just one sound that she wants to hear... laughter!

"They come in, and they just want to play,” said Cusano. “We had a little girl come in, and she has not been out the entire year and a half, and she literally just stood with a big smile, and watched all the kids, and her mom told us yesterday, that she walked around all day saying kids, kids, kids."

Amber Linn, another employee, also adds that Romp N’ Roll teaches lessons without them even knowing

“There's so many things that they get to practice, like sharing, and talking to each other,” said Linn. “That it is so hard to do at home, when they are by themselves, and don’t get to practice all those fun things."
