Shooting by Wallingford officer under investigation: Police

The shooting happened on North Airline Road in Wallingford early Monday morning.

WALLINGFORD, Conn. — Officials are investigating a shooting involving a Wallingford police officer Monday morning.

The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. at a home on North Airline Road, according to Wallingford police. 

North Airline Road will be closed in the area of Pauline Court until further notice due to the investigation. Local school bus pick-up is also impacted, said the bus company.

Police said the Office of the Inspector General, the New Haven State Attorney's Office, and the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Division-Eastern District are investigating the shooting. 

At this time, it's unknown what led up to the shooting or if injuries were reported.
